Common Physical Traits
    The Kurama have arrived to the Lost Continent hailing from the island nation of Senjo. They appear much like humans with several stark differences. Generally the Kurama are known for having long coarse hair upon their heads with fox-like ears matching the color of their hair. The Kurama have also been seen with larger eyes than humans and 'whisker marks' upon their cheeks. They also have a myriad of tails which is dependent on their actual age. The most seen upon a Kurama, at least what was reported, was nine tails. Generally only female Kurama have been sighted. Kurama also have a very distinct smell to them, similar to the smell from foxes.

Racial Bonuses
    + Shapeshift: Fox Form
      Cost: Free
      Upon reaching the age of 16, all Kurama grow their very first tail. The user is required to have at least 1 Magic Art Skill Library. The user is capable of transforming into the shape of a fox at the cost of 2 MP. The amount of tails that the user has will be depicted in their fox form. The user will now be considered a Tiny size with a boost to +1 Speed Tier. When taking on this form, the user must state which Magic Library they wish to utilize. The user is capable of using this Magic Art Skill Library without requiring any Spell Components, however, the user will lose all Spell Point bonuses attached to those spells. The user cannot wield any armor or weapons and their natural weaponry will be equal to the rank of the Magic Art Skill Library attached to the Fox Form. Cannot be used while Shapeshift: Trickster or other Transformation Spells are active

    + Shapeshift: Trickster
      Cost: 200 XPC
      The user is capable of transforming into the shape of anyone they have come across for the cost of 2 MP. This can be anyone from an NPC to another PC as long as the Kurama has met them or touched them in any form or fashion. This transformation is immaculate and cannot be seen through. The user will not gain any additional benefits other than perfectly mimicking the mannerisms, voice, and physical appearance of the person they are. This is generally a Supplemental Spell used for trickery. If the user takes damage from an outside source, the transformation will be reverted. Cannot be used while Shapeshift: Fox Form or other Transformation Spells are active.

    + Low-Light Vision
      Cost: 100 XPC
      The user is required to have a little bit of light in the vicinity in order to see and cannot see in pure darkness. This is a passive granted to the Kurama in all forms, allowing them to see near perfectly in low-light conditions as long as there is a source of light that their eyes can gather within proximity. Does not work in magical darkness.

    + Detect Magic
      Cost: 200 XPC
      The user isn't capable of "seeing" magic more like feel a tug and sensing the magic. They are capable of detecting magical beings up to 250 feet around them and magical use and sensing the use of magic within a 1,000 foot radius around them, regardless of how miniscule. They are also capable of detecting the strength of the magic used if the magic is within their vicinity. This does nothing when dealing with non-magical beings and will not pick up targets that do not have a Magic Art Skill Library.
Lore

     Of all of the races in the world of Azulmonde, the Kurama are the only ones that the gods have no idea where they came from. It was suspected that some foul magic was at play -- whether through clever use of a cursed Transformation Magic or through the deal with a very powerful demon. Nobody really understands how or when the Kurama came into existence; only that they originated from the Island Nation of Senjo.

    Nobody has ever seen a Kurama die from old age as they stop aging upon reaching the age of 20. However, the older they get, the more tails they obtain. Upon being born, they will always have 1 tail. Legends from the Island Nation of Senjo stated that the Kurama will gain 1 tail for every 200 years they remain alive up to a maximum of 9 tails. Myths have circulated that the more tails the Kurama gain, the more powerful they become -- but those claims are completely unsubstantiated.

    It is also relatively unknown why they came to Eragia as they make quite the effort to avoid contact with the other races. Though, from what I was told that Kurama will make themselves known to the one they wish to mate with and test their loyalty and resolve. First by alluring them, then by transforming into their fox form. Depending on the reaction of their potential mate will depend on how the Kurama would react. If they react with splendor and bewilderment, the Kurama may stay -- if they respond negatively, they will disappear from that potential mate and never encounter them ever again.

    The Kurama will never mate with another Kurama as they are just incapable of conceiving a child with another Kurama. It seems the smell of other Kurama is considered 'acrid' which causes them to generally stay away. Once a Kurama mates with a human, dwarf, elf, or other race, they remain with them for the rest of their mate's lives, usually seeing their mate off to the Underworld and acting as a psychopomp for the one they loved. Strange -- passing strange. Which leads me to their primary job when arriving to Eragia. Many of them were unafraid of strangers and even grew accustomed to being around strangers -- taking the role of Psychopomp in many religious rituals where they guide the souls of the dead to the Underworld. Just that very role made them welcomed in Eragia and generally well-respected. It seems the foxes that usually never show their faces are different people upon reaching the Lost Continent.
