General Site Rules

The Do's

Collaborate to write stories with other players. This can be one of tension, even if it forms a rivalry to a friendship. The type of story you write is entirely up to you and whoever you wish to roleplay with.
Ensure there is a separation between IC and OOC. Just because you may not like someone OOC doesn't mean you shouldn't participate in roleplays with their character. Their character isn't their player, so ensure the separation is there. Merging IC and OOC is childish and immature and you will be dealt with.
Build your character through roleplay. Not even talking about combat building, but your character's personality, backstory, and storyline. Doing this will make your character more interesting to others and may even encourage others to roleplay with you.
Follow the rules. The rules were written for the sole purpose of them being followed. If you don't like a certain rule, you are free to make a suggestion to improve it. Also ensure you actually read the rules. There may be several, but they certainly aren't that long.
Show each other some level of respect. Nobody wants to be disrespected OOC so be an adult and show some level of civility.
Have Fun. Seriously, that's why we all roleplay -- to write stories with each other and have fun.

The Do-Not's

Do Not break the rules: Very obvious one is obvious. But the rules were made to be followed. So don't break the rules.
Do Not Metagame Information: If your character doesn't know it, haven't witnessed it first-hand or were told about it, your character simply doesn't know it. While you might know it as the player, your character may not.
Do Not Godmod: You may not hit everything and you may not dodge everything and your attacks will not deal a million damage. Your character is down-to-earth combat-wise and isn't immortal. Fight appropriately
Do Not do things because 'lol random': This is poor writing. Your character should have motivation to do what he/she does. While there may be unhinged characters, those should be treated with care and have some semblance of reason to do what they do.
Do Not Roleplay for other players: This being you will not act on behalf of another player's character nor their NPCs. You only have control over your own character and NPCs. You are not the author of anything besides your own characters.
Do Not argue with Staff: If you have issues with how staff graded any of your items, remain calm and respectful as they are volunteers. If you would like a second opinion, politely ask the staff member to ask the other members of staff their opinion.
Staff - Do Not abuse your power: This should go without saying, but even because you are staff doesn't give you special permissions to do things. If this is discovered, you'll no longer be staff. Your job is to serve the players, not yourself.
Do Not Flame others: Basically, don't be an asshole to other people. Don't make personal attacks and don't harass other people.
Do Not Flame-Bait: Flame-Baiting is the art of picking at someone to the point they flame you. Don't instigate as that's not good form. Act like an adult.
Do Not start drama: This isn't highschool nor middle school so don't start spreading any rumors about other players. Rumors and drama IC over IC things is fine, but being a servant of chaos OOC is not going to be tolerated. Act like an adult.
Cause tension anywhere: This is referring to OOC. If you're going to cause tension and make people uncomfortable -- Don't. This includes taboo topics like religion, politics, etc etc. This includes other portions of ideologies like identity politics and things like QAnon and the like. They're your ideologies so keep them to yourself.
Do Not alienate other players: Doesn't matter what your thoughts on a certain person is OOC, IC is a totally different matter. You will not alienate a player because you find someone annoying or weird. That's childish. You are free to not interact with them OOC, but you will not extend that to IC.
Do not consistently Trauma-Dump anywhere. The site isn't here to be your Counselor. While you can do so every now and then to get it off your chest, the likelihood of players being trained counselors are probably fairly low. If you are in need of assistance, please seek out assistance IRL. This also applies to stating you wish to commit self-harm. We will not entertain this and will promptly ban you for bringing it up. This place isn't for that.
Do not do constant self-deprecation: It's not funny and it's attention grabbing. A little bit is fine and can be humorous, but constantly doing it will just drag down everyone with you and ruin the mood.
