Travel Rules

Traveling from one region to the next
To figure out what a Region is, we will break-down what a region is in the first place:
  • Countries: The head of each Category will be the name of the Country or Major Area. There are 4 Countries/Major Areas
    • Country of Platina
    • Kingdom of Aurumus
    • Queendom of Argentio
    • Kilra'thi Mountains
  • Regions: Within each Country will have regions. In the example shown above in the image, the Capital City of Florian and the Telharian Highlands are both 2 separate regions (Major Towns will be considered separate regions in terms of travel).
  • Areas Within Regions: As you can see with the Capital City Florian, there are smaller areas such as "Florian Adventurer's Guild, Roaring Lion Inn, etc etc. These are called Sub-Areas. Sub-Areas are all within the same region.
Traveling within a single region
If you are within a Region, you can RP in that region freely. Any Sub-Areas can be roleplayed in freely as long as you remain in that region. Once you leave the region, you can no longer roleplay within that Region.

Moving from Region to Region
  • Read the stickied post in each region -- these are descriptive posts talking about the Region.
  • This post will also state the nearest region(s) you can travel to.
  • You are required to leave all topics within a region you plan on leaving. You cannot leave the region until you leave all topics within that region.
  • Traveling from Region-to-Region requires a post leaving the region
    • Leave all topics in that Region in order to leave
    • Must post in the region leaving the Region. If traveling in a group, everyone in the group must post leaving the region.
    • Takes 2 IRL hours from the final post in the group before everyone moves to the next region
    • In the Region leaving topic -- state which Region you are moving to. The OOC area would say [Leaving Region -- Moving to Teltharian Highlands in 2 Hours]
    • After the 2 hours are up, you must post in the new region.
Traveling from Port to Port
There are only 3 ports you can travel to and from. Traveling over water takes a lot more time than traveling on foot. The three ports can travel to one or the other port.
  • You are required to RP at the Port and purchase a ticket to another port. This ticket will cost 500 Reol for a one-way ticket.
  • Travel from Port to Port will take 6 IRL Hours for the boat-ride.
  • While on this Boat Ride, all users will be able to take a Long Rest during the 6 hour boat ride. This Boat Ride cannot be reduced in any way.
Taking a Rest
While traveling, you are incapable of regenerating any of your CON, MP, equipment durability, nor Runestone Charges. You don't need to take a Rest once you reach a [Town] Region as you will automatically be considered 'rested' upon reaching a [Town] Region.
  • While out in the [Wilds] Regions, you are capable of taking a Long Rest. You are required to have a Tent item in your bag in order to take a Long Rest.
  • Long Rest will require you to roleplay setting up a camp and taking a Long Rest -- Must state in the OOC section of your post [Taking a Long Rest -- For 12 Hours]
  • Long Rests will take 12 IRL hours from the time the last person posts in the Long Rest.
  • Once the last person posts taking a Long Rest, you are required to roll the Random Encounter dice to see if you get attacked at night. If you are attacked at night, you must deal with the threat. The 12 Hour timer will start after the random encounter.
Random Encounters
The following are the only times you roll a Random Encounter
  • Entering a [Wilds] Region: Upon your entrance post into a [Wilds] Region (regions that aren't towns), your very first post is required to have a Random Encounter Roll in it -- the dice you choose is of the region you have entered. You can access this underneath the full reply (cannot use it via quick reply) using this menu:
If you entered the Teltharian Highlands, you will use the Teltharian Highlands Random Encounter Dice. The image that pops up will show you the monster(s) you will have to fight. More information will be stated in the Region's Stickied Post for more details.  You are required to either dispatch or run away from the encounter. Dispatching the random encounter may yield sellable items and may yield bonus EXP. These aren't meant to be difficult encounters.  You also have the chance to not have a Random Encounter at all.
  • Taking a Long Rest in the [Wilds]: Every time you decide to take a Long Rest in the [Wilds] you are required to roll the Random Encounter at night. If everyone is asleep, you will be ambushed in the middle of the night and may sustain damage. Having a pet with Nightwatch will have the pet alert you if there is a random encounter (or deal with the Random Encounter if they are strong enough).
  • Forced Encounter: You may, at any time while you are within a [Wilds] Region, force a Random Encounter. You get a maximum of 2 Forced Encounters a month. This is useful for fishing out Rare Encounters.
Rare Encounters
Every [Wilds] Region will have 1 Rare Encounter with a very powerful monster -- these monsters are quite rare but will drop some very powerful loot.
