Roleplaying Rules
Minimum Word CountsWhile staff will not count the words in all of your posts, you still need to reach a Word Count Minimum to gain credit for the post.
Solo RPs: Minimum of 300 words to get credit for the RP Group RP/Social: Minimum of 200 words to get credit for the RP. If everyone leaves the topic with only you remaining, the topic becomes a Solo RP. Roleplaying SlotsEveryone gets 5 Roleplay Slots, letting you be in 5 Roleplays at a single time. This is applied per character. You can never be in more than 5 topics at a time under a single character.
There are additional slots you must take into consideration: Combat Threads: You may only be in one at a time. Crafting Threads: You may only be in one at a time. Travel Threads: You may only be in one at a time. Quest Threads: You may only be in one at a time. Event Threads: You may only be in one at a time. Posting OrderCommon staple on forum roleplaying sites, your Posting Order will be determined on when you join a topic. This post order will be maintained throughout the entirety of the topic. Everyone will gain 1 post every round (unless you are skipped). This will also work as your Initiative in the event this thread becomes a combat thread. Use common sense for Posting Order and do not post out of posting order. If a person is skipped, the next person in the posting order will post. Skipping PostersLife happens and people will be slow. And depending on the severity of the topic will determine whether or not you can skip a person in the topic. If this is in a multi-person topic, the next person in the posting order. For standard topics where there is no combat present, you will have 120 hours (5 days) of that person not posting until they can be skipped. In combat threads, this is reduced down to 48 hours (2 days). If someone is skipped twice in a row, they are officially kicked out of the topic. In a combat topic, getting "48 houred" may spell death for the person getting skipped.
The only exception to the 48 hour rule is if there is a mod running an event and an event NPC. The Event NPC cannot be "48 Houred". That's cheap and ruins the event. Crafting TopicsCrafting takes 1 RP slot per crafting license. QuestsQuests take up 1 RP slot. The Word Count for quests do not start counting until the user arrives at the Quest destination. Most Quests will require travel. See the Travel Rules for more information. TravelingTraveling takes up their own slot. No other RP slots can be made while traveling. You must only have 1 thread and that is to travel. Topic TagsUse the following tags when creating specific topic types: {M}: This is the mature topic tag to let people know that the topic may include graphic violence or graphic sexual content. See the Mature Topics rule below for more details.
{Open}: This is an open topic also known as socials. You can post these topics in the #open-topic discord channel to get more people to join. Anyone can join and anyone can leave. Just be aware that any topic, even socials may turn into a Combat Topic.
{Duel}: Generally performed in a place with a Combat Arena. These are fights that are generally meant to be one-on-one fights. Interfering with the fight is generally seen as bad practice and frowned upon IC. While people may join to watch, it is generally seen as bad practice to interfere in the fight to help another side. This may lead to your character being seen as a pariah. Topic PrivacyAnyone within the same region is capable of joining a topic that started after the person has entered the region. You may not join a topic that started before you entered the region. No topics are considered private, though it may be seen as bad manners OOC to join certain topics for no real reason (as in entering someone's house uninvited). While all topics may be 'invaded' use common sense on what topics should or should not be invadable and don't do it out of malice. Leaving TopicOnce you are in a group topic, if there are other people in the topic, you are required to post: (Attempting to leave topic). You cannot claim anything for the topic until the round comes back around and surpasses what would have been your turn to post. If nobody stops you from leaving, then you can claim EXP from that topic. You are free to leave the topic instantly if you are the last one remaining.
Stopping people from leaving This may only be accomplished if someone is attempting to leave the topic, you have your next post to stop someone from leaving. If nobody, yourself included, stops the person from leaving the topic, then they are gone from the topic. You cannot stop them once they are gone from the topic.
Permanently Leaving the Topic Once you have left the topic you cannot re-enter the topic. You are free to make a follow-up RP -- but you cannot rejoin the one you left. Mature Topics This site is rated 3-3-3 on the RPG Rating scale. Mature Topics are allowed. + Violence: For violent topics, any character, any age is able to participate in. Bad things happen to people here in-character and worse things could happen to those unfortunate enough. Depictions of violence can range from subtle mentions to depictions of gruesome and gory violence.
+ Langauge: Harsh and coarse language is allowed but there are certain things you cannot use such as IRL slurs. You know what slurs we're talking about. This is a fantasy world, don't bring IRL slurs here. If you want, you can make up your own IC slurs for the fantasy races.
+ Sexual Content: Sexual Content is allowed, but sexual violence is not. Sexual content on this site must fulfill the following criteria: + Age of Writers: 18+ Age of Characters: 18+. Your character must also appear to be over the age of 18 (no lolis, no shoutas, no small children or characters that look like small children. Consent: Both characters and players must consent to the sexual act. Any depiction of gory violence and sexual acts must be hidden behind a spoiler tag so those who happen to read will not be forced to read your smut. Images No images depicting graphic violence nor nudity or implied sexual content can be posted on the site. Bikinis don't exist in Eragia. While sexy images are fine, we draw the line at PG-13 images. If you have any questions, ask a member of staff first to see if a particular image would be suitable for the site. And no, "big boobs = over-sexual" will not be practiced here. We're adults and know that there are different body types.
Alt Helping AltYou can never interact with any of your alts. You cannot trade items or anything with your alts. You cannot train Skills with your alts. You cannot "drop an item" and then pick it up with your alt. You cannot give a special item to another character and then have their character give it to your alt. If you are seen trying to assist your alt, you will lose all alts and will only be able to RP with one of your characters for the remainder of your stay here in Eragia.
