Basic Crafting Rules
This is where you will learn the basics of crafting

Obtaining a Crafting License
Your very first license can be obtained by spending 5000 Reol in your Character Request. You are capable of gaining more crafting licenses, however they will now start costing SP (Skill Points) as well as 5000 Reol.

The Crafts
All crafts are sorted into two primary types of crafts. You are required to own a license for a particular craft in order to craft items for that specific license
+ Blacksmithing: This involves the heating and smashing of metal. Blacksmithing encompasses a bunch of other disciplines that require the user to work with their hands. All Blacksmithing licenses require a minimum of 5 Strength and 5 Dexterity in order to craft
+ Weaponsmithing: The crafter is capable of creating a variety of weaponry such as swords, spears, throwing weapons, bows, and any exotic weapon they would like to make. The user is also capable of creating quivers for bows as well as repair weapons.
+ Armorsmithing: The crafter is capable of creating a variety of armors for different parts of the body. Armor is useful for protecting parts of the body. The Armorsmith is capable of also creating shields, a very protective tool that is held in the hand rather than worn on the body.
+ Jewelrysmithing: The user is capable of creating jewelry that is primarily used for either making your character look opulent or as a means of holding more Runestone slots.
+ Synthesis: This is more of the magical side that requires the mixing of components. While most generally rely on a chemical reaction, some may require the user to inject magic into an item. All Synthesis licenses require a minimum of 5 Intelligence and 5 Wisdom in order to craft
+ Potion Synthesis: The user is capable of crafting potions that are completely beneficial in nature. These potions can be used to heal health, heal magic power, or have a lingering effect (think of potions from the Witcher).
+ Poison Synthesis: Poisons can take on a multitude of forms, either dealing hefty amounts of damage or dealing a detrimental effect. Whether or not a poison takes effect is dependent on your opponent's Constitution.
+ Runic Masonry: A relatively new field of study that came about no more than 100 years ago. This field of research was created as a means of giving those that didn't naturally have an inclination to use magic the ability to use magic. Runic Masons can turn Runesand into Runestones, which can either be casting mediums, hold a spell within a Runestone, or enchant a piece of equipment.

What's the Point of Crafting?
The Shops can only offer Rank 1 and Rank 2 equipment for a price. Crafting will allow you to make more variety of items than what is available in the shops and crafters are capable of crafting up to Rank 5 items.

How to Make a Crafting Recipe
Before you start crafting, you're going to want to start with making a crafting recipe. You make a single post In the Crafting Creations sub-forum. Here, you will create your crafting formula. Each License will have their own specific formats to follow when creating a Crafting Formula. Follow each format and then post them in your thread in the Crafting Creations forum. You may app up to 5 crafting formulas a time. Afterwards, submit your request in the discord in the #creation-requests channel. Once that is approved, you may officially begin crafting that item at your leisure.

How to Craft
Once you have created your Crafting Recipe, it is time to craft. Follow the steps below on how to craft:
      1. Make a post in your craft's area
+ Blacksmithing Crafts:  Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing, and Jewelrysmithing will be crafted in The Black Forge
+ Synthesis Crafts:  Potion Synthesis, Poison Synthesis, and Runic Masonry will be crafted in The Red Atelier

If you have a house or Shop, you can craft in that specific sub-forum
      2. Know what you want to craft. You'll need to know what you want to craft prior to posting crafting.

      3. Gathering materials. You can gather materials at the specific shop. You can gather Weapon-Grade materials at the Weapon Shop, you can gather Armor-Grade materials at the Armor Shop, etc etc. You will need to purchase/gather these materials and have them on you prior to crafting. It needs to be in your inventory.

      4. Begin RPing crafting. Each craft will require a certain word count in order to create the item. You are required to meet the word count requirement in order to craft the item.

      5. At the end of the post, after you meet your required word count, you will need to state what you crafted in that post and the materials that need to be removed from your inventory. You are capable of crafting multiple items within a single post as long as you meet the Word Count requirement for all of the items.

      6. Once you are ready to turn this in, leave your thread, marking (Topic Left) at the very bottom of the thread. You are then capable of performing a Character Request. Once approved, the staff will add these items to your unequipped inventory. If you wish to equip this item, you are required to state you want to equip it.
A member of staff will mark down the number of crafts you made and whether or not you ranked up in your craft.

Crafting Ranks
Everyone starts at Rank 1 in their particular crafts. You can increase your crafting rank simply by crafting. Crafting will not gain you additional EXP for completing the crafts.
      + Rank 1
Requirement: 5 Strength, 5 Dexterity, Crafting License
Rank-Up Requirements: Craft 5 Rank 1 Items of that specific Crafting License to proceed to Rank 2

      + Rank 2
Requirement: Completed Rank-up Requirements stated in Rank 1
Rank-Up Requirements: Craft 5 Rank 2 Items of that specific Crafting License to proceed to Rank 3
Capable of Crafting: Capable of crafting Rank 2 Items of that specific Crafting License
Word Count Requirement: 600 words to craft a Rank 2 Item, per item
      + Rank 3
Requirement: Completed Rank-up Requirements stated in Rank 2
Rank-Up Requirements: Craft 7 Rank 3 Items of that specific Crafting License to proceed to Rank 4
Capable of Crafting: Capable of crafting Rank 3 Items of that specific Crafting License

Capable of Crafting: Capable of crafting Rank 4 Items of that specific Crafting License
Word Count Requirement: 1200 words to craft a Rank 2 Item, per item
      + Rank 5
Requirement: Completed Rank-up Requirements stated in Rank 4
        Rank-Up Requirements: --
Capable of Crafting: Capable of crafting Rank 5 Items of that specific Crafting License
Word Count Requirement: 1500 words to craft a Rank 2 Item, per item

Item Durability
All items will have durability. This durability is the toughness of the item before it breaks. While small chips and dents could be made towards the item, it wouldn't be considered a break. Durability depends on the rank of the item and the materials used.
+ Rank 1 Items: Maximum Durability of 10
+ Rank 2 Items: Maximum Durability of 15
+ Rank 3 Items: Maximum Durability of 20
+ Rank 4 Items: Maximum Durability of 25
+ Rank 5 Items: Maximum Durability of 30
Once the durability reaches 0, it will be broken and it will require crafters of that Crafting License to repair the item. If it is a weapon, it'll require a Weaponsmith to repair the item. The item will remain broken, even into other threads, until it is repaired. If the item didn't completely break, it will automatically regenerate at the end of the thread (this is assumed the user maintains their equipment).

How damage is deal is dependent on the rank of the skill used. See the Constitution Rules for damages. Once a Skill hits the piece of equipment, it will deal damage equal to the skill's damage. (A Rank 1 Weapon hitting a Rank 5 Armor will deal 1 damage to the Rank 5 armor. A Rank 5 Magic Skill hitting a Rank 5 Armor will deal 10 damage to the Rank 5 Armor.) Once the item is broken, it will no longer serve it's purpose -- A weapon can no longer deal damage nor use it's Runestones, a piece of jewelry will no longer have it's runestones work, armor will no longer protect the user, runestones will no longer work.

Repairing an Item
For a broken item, you are capable of repairing an item if you are of equal or higher rank than the item needing repair. If you are a Rank 2 Weaponsmith, you cannot repair a Rank 3 Weapon. If you are a Rank 5 Weaponsmith, you can repair Ranks 1-5 Weapons. To do so, the crafter must have 1 crafting material of equal rank, the item being repaired, and the crafter must spend the same amount of Word Count to repair the item. You can start a business repairing items!

Changing Crafting Licenses
You are capable of changing your Crafting Licenses upon performing a Respec. If you change and remove a Crafting License, you are incapable of making items of that craft while you don't have an active Crafting License. You will also lose all of your Crafting Ranks once you swap out the Crafting License -- you will return to Rank 1.
