Weaponsmithing Rules

Requirement
The user is required to have a Crafting License in Weaponsmithing. You are also required to have at least 5 Strength and 5 Dexterity.

Crafting Location
There are 3 main places that you can craft weapons.
      1. The Black Forge: This is the main crafting location for Blacksmithing Crafts.
      2. Medium Sized House: If you have a medium-sized house with a Weapon Forge room, you are capable of crafting weapons in your house, in that room.
      3. Personal Weapon Shop: If you own a shop and you have the Weaponsmithing License, you are capable of crafting weapons in your shop.

Crafting Materials
The main place you will gather materials from is from Goltana's Weapon Material Shop. These are the primary materials you'll be able to obtain (some special materials can be obtained in certain quests). Ensure you have materials in order to craft your weapons.

Each weapon will have a base of 3 materials minimum required to make a weapon. At least 1 of the materials is required to be of the same rank of the weapon that you are crafting. (If you are making a Rank 4 weapon, you're required to have at least 1 Rank 4 Weapon-Grade crafting material.)

    Spoiler:

Crafting Bows
This applies to bows and crossbows and any other 'launching' type weapon that uses tension to launch a projectile. This is created similarly to normal weapons except one of the 3 materials will be required to be the 'Drawstring' for the bow. The Drawstring for the bow will determine the distance and strength requirement in order to pull back the drawstring. Drawstrings can be purchased in the Weapon's Shop. Drawstrings must be of equal or lower rank than the Bow, itself.
      + Rank 1 Drawstring
+ Strength Requirement to draw: 5
+ Full Draw Distance: The arrow can fly up to 30 feet
+ Full Draw Speed: The arrow will fly up to 30 feet per second
      + Rank 2 Drawstring
+ Strength Requirement to draw: 8
+ Full Draw Distance: The arrow can fly up to 60 feet
+ Full Draw Speed: The arrow will fly up to 40 feet per second
      + Rank 3 Drawstring
+ Strength Requirement to draw: 11
+ Full Draw Distance: The arrow can fly up to 90 feet
+ Full Draw Speed: The arrow will fly up to 50 feet per second
      + Rank 4 Drawstring
+ Strength Requirement to draw: 14
+ Full Draw Distance: The arrow can fly up to 120 feet
+ Full Draw Speed: The arrow can fly up to 60 feet per second
      + Rank 5 Drawstring
+ Strength Requirement to draw: 17
+ Full Draw Distance: The arrow can fly up to 150 feet
+ Full Draw Speed: The arrow can fly up to 70 feet per second
NOTE: The range and speed that an arrow will fly is reduced from real speed as a measure of balance for the site. The wielder of the bow may buy their own drawstring and have separate drawstrings with them and string their bow on-the-fly. The user is required to have the Strength to draw the bow in order to string their own bow. Arrows aren't made, nor crafted, so an Archer will want to also have Quivers made for them.

Arrows/Crossbows may have a Runestone Medium or Spell Runestone slot drilled into it.

Crafting Quivers
Quivers are what holds arrows/bolts that are to be nocked into an arrow/crossbow. This is the ammunition you use for bows/crossbows/etc. The amount of arrows/bolts a quiver can hold will be dependent on the rank of the quiver.
      + Rank 1: 5 Arrows
      + Rank 2: 10 Arrows
      + Rank 3: 15 Arrows
      + Rank 4: 20 Arrows
      + Rank 5: 25 Arrows
Quivers (and the arrows within the Quivers) are what determines the damage of a bow. Bows will determine the speed and distance an arrow will travel but the arrow, itself, is what determines the damage. So a Rank 1 Quiver of arrows will deal 1 damage while a Rank 5 Quiver of arrows will deal 5 damage.

Quivers may also have a single Enchantment Runestone drilled into the Quiver. This will give each quiver it's own identity. Each arrow within that specific quiver will have the attribute attached to the Enchantment. (Flaming Arrows, serrated arrows, bludgeoning arrows, etc). Each arrow used from this particular quiver will use 1 charge of the Enchantment Runestone. The user may have up to 3 Quivers equipped.

Crafting Throwing Weapons
Throwing weapons are things such as tomahawks, javelins, and throwing knives. These weapons can be used to great effect. However, how effective they are depends on how they are crafted. There are two grades of throwing weapons:
+ Mass Produced Throwing Weapons: These are items that are mass produced. While they can still put the hurt on a person, they aren't capable of having Runestone Slots drilled into them. They do, however, come in quantities of 5 -- so 1 craft can yield 5 of these items.
+ Single Throwing Weapons: Single Throwing Weapons have more emphasis on quality rather than quantity. Single Throwing Weapons will have it's quantity only able to be made in 1, but will be able to have a Runestone Slot drilled into it.
You are capable of throwing weapons and your throwing distance will depend on your Strength. You can throw at a distance equal to 3x your Strength. If you have 20 strength, you can throw 60 feet. Throwing Weapons will always travel at 40 feet/sec.

Weapon Weights
All weapons have 3 weights associated with them.
      + Light Weight
        + Requirement: 1 Strength
+ Bonus: The user's Dexterity, for weapon swing speed, is increased by +5
+ Drawback:  The user's swing strength is reduced by -5 (to a minimum of 1). May only be wielded in 1 hand -- cannot every wield in 2 hands. Damage dealt by this weapon is reduced by half.
      + Medium Weight
        + Requirement: 5 Strength
        + Bonus: No bonuses.
        + Drawback: No drawbacks
      + Heavy Weight
        + Requirement: 10 Strength
+ Bonus: Damage is increased by 50%. Strikes with the weapon are treated as if the user has an additional +5 Strength.
+ Drawback: The user's Dexterity, for weapon swing speed, is reduced by -5 (to a minimum of 1). May only wield in 2 hands (unless the user has 15 Dexterity).
Drilling Runestone Slots
Each melee weapon, bow/crossbow can have 1 Runestone Slot drilled into it. In order to do that, you are required to purchase a Runestone Drill from Johanna's Runestone Shop. It's pretty expensive, so don't lose it! The Runestone Drill will allow you to drill a perfect hole into the weapon to be able to affix a Runestone into it. While the Weaponsmith can't affix a Runestone themselves (unless they have the Runic Masonry Crafting License), they are capable of preparing it for the right person to affix the Runestone into it.

Weapons are only capable of affixing the following Runestone types
+ Runestone Medium: Runestone Mediums have a certain number of uses and can work as a Spell Medium for spells that use the [ M ] Spell Component. Runestone Mediums only have a certain number of uses before the Runestone evaporates, leaving only an empty Runestone Slot.
+ Spell Runestone: The person creating the Runestone may imbue a Spell Runestone with a spell that they own. This will allow the user to use their weapon as a Spell Medium in order to use said spell. The spell, however, must be offensive in nature. Each spell will use a Spell Charge. Once the charge reaches 0, it will need to be recharged.
+ Enchantment Runestone: The user may enchant their weapon with an Enchantment Runestone. The Enchantment must be offensive in nature (such as setting your sword on fire). This will increase your weapon's damage by +1 for a full round. The user may maintain a weapon enchantment, but it will use up an Enchantment Charge. Once the charge reaches 0, it will need to be recharged.
You may only apply an Enchantment that is of equal or lower rank than the weapon. You can apply a Rank 3 Runestone onto a Rank 3 Weapon, but you cannot apply a Rank 5 Runestone onto a Rank 4 Weapon. It will not affix if the Runestone is higher ranking than the weapon.

IMPORTANT: The moment you affix a Runestone into a weapon, you are required to Attune to it in order to make use of the Runestone.

Weaponsmithing Rules

Requirement

    Crafting Location

      What you can Craft
You are capable of crafting the following items as a Weapon Crafter. It is possible to create some off-the-wall weapons.

        + Melee Weapons
        Spoiler:

        + Launcher Weapons
        Spoiler:

        + Replacement Bow Strings
        Spoiler:

        + Arrow Quivers
        Spoiler:

        + Throwing Weapons
        Spoiler:

        + Bardic Instruments
        Spoiler:

        + Sorcerer's Weapons
        Spoiler:

      Weapon Damage
        + Rank 1 Weapon Damage: 1 Damage
        + Rank 2 Weapon Damage: 3 Damage
        + Rank 3 Weapon Damage: 5 Damage
        + Rank 4 Weapon Damage: 7 Damage
        + Rank 5 Weapon Damage: 9 Damage

Weapons are separated into 3 damage types:
        + Slashing
        + Piercing
        + Bludgeoning
When creating a weapon and stating it's damage, a Rank 2 Mace would deal 3 Bludgeoning Damage while a Rank 2 Sword would deal 3 Slashing Damage. Launcher Weapons (bows, crossbows, etc) will state the damage as just '# damage' while the arrows, themselves, on the quivers will dictate whether the arrows within are slashing, bludgeoning, or piercing.
      Weapon Weight
Weapon Weight DOES NOT matter. Weapon Weights are purely for roleplay.
      Weapon Repair
Repairing a weapon will completely replenish the durability of your weapon. This will repair even completely broken weapons back to their former glory. In order to do this, you are required to have one (1) Repair Kit of the same rank and then write a quick roleplay of you repairing the weapon. There is a minimum word count depending on the rank of the weapon being repaired:
          + Repairing a Rank 1 Weapon: Requires 1 Rank 1 Repair Kit, 100 words
          + Repairing a Rank 2 Weapon: Requires 1 Rank 2 Repair Kit, 200 words
          + Repairing a Rank 3 Weapon: Requires 1 Rank 3 Repair Kit, 300 words
          + Repairing a Rank 4 Weapon: Requires 1 Rank 4 Repair Kit, 400 words
          + Repairing a Rank 5 Weapon: Requires 1 Rank 5 Repair Kit, 500 words
      Drilling Runestone Holes
In order to drill a hole into a weapon, you are required to buy a Runestone Drill, which can be purchased at Johanna's Runestone Shop. Once owned, the crafter is capable of drilling a Runestone hole into the weapon.

All weapons, besides Sorcerer Weapons, can only have 1 Runestone Hole drilled into it. Drilling a Runestone Hole will increase the minimum Word Count required to make the weapon by 100 words.
